Calligraphy for “Intuition.” Deer are sensitive and highly intuitive animals, able to step lightly through any terrain, using determination and grace. The deer invites you to weigh the difference in times of trouble between “agility” and “resilience.” Sometimes, if we try to be resilient for too long – always bracing for impact - it can result in a weakening, as well as a hardening of the spirit. Cynicism may creep in, and the world knows, we need less cynicism these days, not more. Some troubles we need not have head-on collisions with. What about stepping lightly through and around them instead? Intuition can help ensure that each step is the right one.

This piece is Inspired in part by Aldous Huxley’s admonition that “It’s dark because you are trying too hard. Lightly child, lightly.” Tap into your own inner lightness of being. Just follow the deer.

The snail reminds us that while many of our biggest, most arduous journeys are really about “finding” or “returning to home,” home is actually a part of ourselves – we find it inside, and carry it with us wherever we go. There is nothing to discover or return to – coming home is really just the sacred remembering of that fact.
