Monk with Binoculars; Bow - Attention; Intention
Monk with Binoculars; Bow - Attention; Intention
“Attention” and “Intention” are next in my new Modern Monks series. Although they pair well together, they don’t have to. Ask yourself which one you need the most support for. Or maybe the balance of the two really is the point for you.
“Attention” and “Intention” (binoculars and bow, respectively) are the two components of consciousness. They are the co-creative powers. Attention energizes, while intention transforms.
In this way, whatever we place attention on expands in our lives, while the intention we have for it will orchestrate the results.
So be open and curious about what is worthy of your attention (sometimes the best stuff is hiding in plain sight), and be conscious of what you are giving it to, because it is that which will become your reality. Likewise, be mindful of your intentions. Take time to get clear about what you want - and why - (think of it as taking aim) and your arrow is sure to hit its mark.
The beauty of Chinese brush painting is that it can be powerful medicine. It doesn’t necessarily reflect things as they are, but can give you a focal point for how you would like them to be. It can not just underscore your strengths (reflecting your own best self back to you), but can also be chosen as “support” for the areas where you feel weak.
Choose fine art print or original ink. Originals will be painted to order on watercolor paper. PLEASE NOTE THAT ORIGINAL INKS WILL BE UNIQUE, same composition but minor differences in detail, which is part of the beauty of having an original. Both prints and originals are 5 x 7, and will come matted to fit an 8 x 10 inch frame.
